From the original post

Calix Site Reliability Engineer 2026 is an entry-level SRE I opening at Calix, the company behind the Calix One cloud-first, AI-powered platform used by Communication Service Providers worldwide. As an SRE I, you will ensure production services remain available, scalable, and efficient on Google Cloud Platform, bridging development and operations through GitOps deployments, alert triage, and observability tooling. The role follows a flexible hybrid model, requiring roughly 20 days per quarter in the Bangalore office, and is a strong entry point into cloud infrastructure and DevOps careers. Responsibilities: Deploy, roll back, and manage containerized applications using ArgoCD/GitOps pipeline workflows. Act as first line of defense to investigate and resolve infrastructure, OS-level, application, and network alerts. Diagnose connectivity and latency issues across cloud VPCs and Kubernetes overlays. Diagnose OS bottlenecks including CPU throttling, memory leaks, and storage constraints on GKE worker nodes. Use AI-driven AIOps tools to interpret anomaly detections and root-cause insights. Participate in on-call rotations using Grafana dashboards to mitigate production issues. Requirements: Practical exposure to CI/CD, GitOps, and Git version control concepts. Foundational knowledge of networking layers (HTTP/S, DNS, TCP/UDP, IP routing, Kubernetes networking). Strong foundational knowledge of Linux internals, process management, and file systems. Familiarity with command-line diagnostic tools such as tcpdump, curl, dig, and traceroute. Basic scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Go is expected.
