PhonePe is conducting its off-campus hiring for the Network Delivery Engineer 1 position in Pune. The eligibility criteria specifically require 1–3 years of relevant experience. Therefore, candidates without experience might not be shortlisted. PhonePe is India’s largest digital payments platform, headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Founded in December 2015 by Sameer Nigam, Rahul Chari, and Burzin Engineer, the app went live in August 2016 as the first payment application built on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Responsibilities of a Network Engineer: Performing network provisioning and deployment activities. Configuring firewalls, including ACL management, IPSec, NAT, and periodic firewall reviews. Managing patches for network switches, firewalls, and servers. Upgrading operating systems on network devices. Performing network maintenance during off-peak business hours. Monitoring network performance and implementing optimization measures. Working with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot network performance issues. Developing automation scripts for routine network operations. Integrating automation tools for network provisioning, monitoring, and management. Acting as an on-call engineer for complex network incidents and outages. Performing root-cause analysis and preparing RCAs where required. Supporting Network Operations as an L1 escalation point. Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, Related field, or Equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or a related role. Required skills: Familiarity with Data Center topologies and network routing and switching concepts like BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VRRP, etc. Knowledge of VxLAN will be an added advantage Basic scripting and automation skills, with entry-level proficiency in languages like Python, Go, Shell and orchestration tools like Ansible, Salt or similar. Basic fundamental knowledge of Linux esp. Distributions like Ubuntu and RHEL and web-servers like Nginx and Apache2. Experience in a 24×7 on-call rotation environment and in handling critical incidents. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Certifications/Course Completion for Cisco CCNA/Juniper JNCIA or equivalent would be an added advantage. Recruitment Selection Process: 1. Online Application 2. Resume Screening 3.
