Role
As an ‘Andriod Automative OD Dev’ you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining middleware components of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) used in automotive applications.
A purpose driven role for you
As an AOSP Middleware Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining middleware components of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) used in automotive applications. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of AOSP middleware development and the Android framework.
A Day in the life
The responsibility will include-
– Develop and maintain middleware components of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) used in automotive applications
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of middleware components in automotive applications
– Debug and troubleshoot middleware-related issues in automotive applications
Develop and maintain documentation related to middleware development in the automotive industry
-Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in middleware development for the Android platform and the automotive industry
-Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other team members
-Participate in architecture and design discussions related to AOSP middleware development
-Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards and regulations
-Design and develop human-machine interfaces (HMI) for our products using UI Studio tools such as Android Studio, CGI, and Kanzi.
Academic Qualification & Experience
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
– 6-10 years of experience in AOSP middleware and HMi development
Technical Skills/Knowledge
-Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Java
-Deep understanding of AOSP middleware development and the Android framework
-Familiarity with automotive electronics and systems
-Experience with software development tools and methodologies used in the automotive industry (e. g. AUTOSAR, MISRA)
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Automotive experience preferred
-Proficient in UI Studio tools such as Android Studio, CGI, and Kanzi.
-Strong programming skills in C++ and Java/Kotlin.
-Experience with operating systems such as Android, Linux, and QNX.
-Knowledge of web mapping technologies (e. g., Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers) and map styling languages (e. g., Mapbox GL, CartoCSS) is a plus.
-Experience with cloud platforms (e. g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies is advantageous.
-Deep understanding of map tile generation and rendering processes, including knowledge of technologies like Mapnik, OpenLayers, or similar frameworks.
-Experience with geospatial data processing, tile caching, and rendering optimization techniques.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
